In all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia (no loopholes) it is illegal to drive a motorized vehicle (including some wheelchairs) while under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs. This act is called DUI which stands for Drunken Driving.

As the problem hasn't been getting much better people have become getting more and more severe in the laws. These laws and sentences change like the seasons but they are pretty much always for the worst for drunk drivers. Also I believe in one respect one sentence has never changed however. Death simply put you could die. Lets be blunt here for a moment shall we? Think of every happy moment you have ever had think of each one of your friends and all that you have learned that could all be snuffed out all of it gone in one shattering moment for the simple urge to feel drunk.

It doesn't sound worth it does it? Even if you are fine every time you have driven drunk before now there is still a risk somewhat similar to Russian roulette. Just don't take the risk. I am not saying that you shouldn't drink. Drinking is GREAT! It just is but please come up with a plan of how to get home that doesn't involve drunk driving. You could hold back a couple bucks to hire a taxi or you could designate a driver if you are with a group of friends (you might be designated but you can reduce that risk with having more friends ;) or any number of other ways that I am sure you can think of.

Please consider that if you drunken drive you not only endanger you life but anyone you crash into. You might be willing to risk you life but I don't think that they are willing to risk theirs.

If you have a DUI Violation then you need an attorney. The Judge will feel he is doing to a favor by throwing the book at you because of all the DUI deaths that happen every year. And the penalties for a DUI are sever.
